Denon DHT-1312XP comes with AVR-1312, an entry level AV-receiver from Denon. The SYS-1312 5.1 speaker system has a DSW 1312 sub-woofer, an SC-C1312 centre and 4 SC-F1312 satellites meant for the rear and front channels. The Blu-ray HD audio supporting feature and HDMI v1.4 sockets allow full 3D pass-through capability – which is a splendid feature.

The connectivity options of the AVR-1312 are good for its entry level. The inputs are 3 analog stereo, 2 digital audio (optical and co-axial), 2 composite video and S-Video. As for the outputs, there is a composite video output, one port through which you can connect iPod peripherals that are made by Denon. There is a sub-woofer pre-out and a port for connecting powered speakers for surround sound.

Owing to its affordability, there is a compromise on build quality and appearance – but, it looks pleasant. The front panel has a robust control segment and the vibration resistant aluminum body looks good. Its black color is easy to blend in with surroundings. The satellite speakers are huge in size compared to the ones from similar models from other brands like Cambridge Audio or KEF. But, their glossy black color looks good. Even the sub-woofer looks big enough so that it looks difficult to be hidden in a corner.
